The window casing on the inside of the house at Carroll St was finished up and really looks great. We were able to recreate a look similar to that of the original window casing while dressing them up more than the original using our own custom design. Once the painting on the inside is completed they will look fantastic. We are really pleased with how well the work on these came out.
In the dining area of the Great Room, the coffered ceiling was trimmed out with crown molding. Behind this crown molding will be lighting that will up light the coffered area of the ceiling.
The interior doors were also hung yesterday in all of the rooms. They too look really great and once trimmed out, should be beautiful. We'll post a picture once the door casing is completed (most likely next week).
The driveway grading has begun to prepare for pouring the new driveway off of Iowa street to the garage. We will be adding a slab surrounded by a fence for the garbage and recycling containers. We'll post pictures of the drive once its been poured.
The floor finishing was scheduled to be finished over the weekend, however we hit a snag when the floor finishing contractor's sander broke down. This has delayed his work in finishing the floor at least 3 days as he is waiting for parts to fix the sander to complete the floor sanding. Some of the trim detail work in the house is dependent on getting the floor finishing work done (door casing and baseboards specifically). Due to this delay we most likely will have to delay the open house we had tentatively scheduled for August 23rd till the following weekend. This schedule is still not finalized, so if there is a chance to still have it on the 23rd, we will stick to that. We will announce the date next week when we have a better idea of how much work has been be completed this week. For those of you on the mailing list, we'll be notifying you by email of the date information.
