After several delays and frustrations getting our contractors schedules in line, we are pleased to announce that we will finally be ready to show the Carroll Street house this coming Saturday, September 20th. The open house will be from 11am till 4pm. We'll be demonstrating the numerous features of the house as well as serving some light appetizers and drinks. Make sure you come by and take a look at the finished product.
On Friday, we were able to finish several items in the kitchen and the downstairs laundry area as well as with the landscaping around the front and back of the house. All the exterior lighting is done including motion detectors for the backyard and the driveway. We also installed the backyard speakers which completes the house audio system. In addition to putting in the speakers, we did technical systems checks through out the house. We were able to play audio in the Great Room via a receiver and front speakers and have that same audio play in the kitchen and in the backyard as well. You can walk from the front room of the house to the backyard and hear the same music as you walk through. Also on Friday, the fireplace installer was able to come back and hook up the remote for the gas fireplace unit. You'll be able to sit on your couch and turn the fireplace on and off. It too is a very fun feature to see in person.
Over the weekend we were finally able to get all the detail items with the plumbing finished up in all the bathrooms and the kitchen. The gas range and dishwasher were installed and tested.
Today the floor finisher showed up and is putting the last 2 coats of finishing sealer on the floor. We won't be able to go into the house for a couple days while the floor finish hardens and dries. Part of the delay in the open house schedule is due to the 3 day no entry/walking requirement for the floor finish.
